Looking back on the events of r/wallstreetbets and the GME squeeze of the century, it is evident creativity is not limited to the intended but rather elements of creativity pour and flow through our daily lives. The pure volume of emotion and disbelief relating to the Game Stop play and subsequent fallouts from institutional manipulations should be alarming. This painting series is fueled by the passion of diamond handed HODLers and the symbolic retributions from holding bags.
BANANAS
February 2nd 2021 a 10 painting series was created by BBLGTZ within 24 hours and reflect on how the emoji for the diamond can never be the same–it has evolved and represents so much more for our zeitgeist. This is particularly true for those who have grown up in a world of not having, over promised and underdelivered political two talk, evangelism of the observed state and the state of wanting to be observed through streaming videos of self. Chaos is the only consistent thing we are given and all roads encourage infighting or tribal echo-chambers currently being censored when they do not conform. In the efforts to make things the most fair we have become accustom to amputating a leg rather than changing the diet. Buy low sell high they say… buy the dip they say… stonks only go up they say… the most important thing of this whole event is our collective reflection on money, assets, and true wealth. The amount of knowledge available is changing how we operate and it is time we shift from the industrial revolution frameworks of society towards something more. Remember the diamond handed holders as the seas of current fluctuate; who has true stability when the whole game is changing?
